How they met
Dana and Rudy were introduced by Dana’s sister at a family gathering that Rudy nearly didn’t attend. He’d almost cancelled. He’s mentioned this several times since.
The day
This was the kind of wedding day that moves. Dana got ready at home in Point Cook while Rudy prepared across the water at the Holiday Inn in Werribee, two separate mornings that converged at the ceremony at 2:30pm.
The ceremony was measured and warm, the kind that feels longer than it is in the best possible way. Rudy saw Dana arrive and went very still, then smiled slowly in a way that his mother, three rows back, said she’d never seen before.
Post-ceremony, we headed to St Kilda Botanical Gardens for portraits: afternoon light through the old fig trees, the two of them completely at ease with each other after a big emotional morning. It’s one of Melbourne’s quieter garden spots and it showed.
Ten hours of coverage from Point Cook to St Kilda. A day that earned the distance.
A moment from the day
“Yas covered everything, from getting ready to the gardens. We didn’t miss a thing.” – Dana
